History Title

Bartok opened in August 1998 and continues to blush under the fire of compliments from customers and reviewers alike. In essence, Bartok, named after the Hungarian composer Bela Bartok, is an expansion of the chill out room idea, placed in Regency styled surroundings. “Visitors can sprawl on the deep tapestry covered couches and the mood is of stimulation, conversation, and relaxation” (Cath Rapley, Frank Magazine).

Bartok has played host to some truly inspirational artists including Michael Nyman, FourPlay, Tina B, Zohar, Brilliant Strings, Wilby, Celloman, Bebeto, David Kitt, Roland Chadwick, Berlioz Hidasi, Mike Lindup, La Strada, Terpsichoria, Mediva, Estelle Kotok, Dave Loew and Vox ‘n’ Roll.
